Soyoung is a board-certified acupuncturist and herbologist, credentialed by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine ( NCCAOM). She is a state certified and licensed acupuncturist in New York.
She studied pharmacognosy (herbal medicine) in South Korea and continued her education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in US, obtaining her Master’s Degree. Soyoung received additional training in acupuncture for facial rejuvenation, infertility and cancer patient support.
To supplement her traditional schooling, Soyoung studied Sa-Am acupuncture. This is a specialized Korean technique of traditional medicine that employs the five classical elements of acupuncture using the four most powerful needles of Acupuncture’s sixty antique points. This technique allows for the maximal effective treatment for numerous conditions without contact to the effected, painful areas. The Sa-am method has showed great efficacy for various pain syndromes, psycho-emotional conditions, digestive problems and infertility in both males and females.
During her internship at Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center, Soyoung managed various cases of cancer patients. During this time she developed a strong belief in the importance of traditional Chinese Medicine when used jointly with Western Medicine to treat disease and to maintain good health.
